In KRAES sun protection, we use a mineral filter (non-nano) Zinc, which is often referred to as a "physical filter". The filter acts like a mirror; it reflects the sun's rays and is therefore effective against UVA and UVB.
The Danish Cancer Society and the Danish Health Authority recommend using factor 15 for normal skin and factor 30 for sensitive skin in Denmark. Children's skin is particularly delicate/sensitive and naturally requires extra protection from the sun's rays.
